Description
Dansk: Illustration af Poul Steffensen til Carit Etlars roman Dronningens Vagtmester, der foregår under den Anden Karl Gustav-krig i 1658-1660. Gøngehøvdingen Svend Poulsen og hans gønger, der er forklædt som svenske soldater, er kommet til Gjorslev Slot for at befri Ib Abelsøn, der holdes fanget på tårnets tag. Gøngerne og de rigtige soldater spiser fælles aftens mad, men imens tager Svend Poulsen den tyske kaptajn Esner i svensk tjeneste til fange, og de to går op i tårnet for at befri Ib Abelsøn. Da det er sket, bliver kaptajn Esner låst inde i tårnet. Svend Poulsen sender Ib Abelsøn ned, mens han selv går hen til herskabet, idet ham omtaler sin elskede Karen Kaas som sin stjerne. Ib Abelsøn ville nu foretrække, at hun var en rigtig stjerne, så Svend Poulsen ikke kunne nå hende.
English: Illustration by Poul Steffensen from the Danish novel Dronningens Vagtmester by Carit Etlar which takes place during the Dano-Swedish War in 1658-1660. Svend Poulsen, Gøngehøvdingen, and his gønger who are disguised as Swedish soldier has come to the Gjorslev Castle to free Ib Abelsøn who are held captured on the roof of the tower. The gønger and the real soldiers eats a common supper but meanwhile Svend Poulsen takes the German captain Esner in Swedish service prisoner and the two of them goes up in the tower to free Ib Abelsøn. When that is done captain Esner gets locked inside the tower. Svend Poulsen sends Ib Abelsøn while he goes to the noble people, speaking of his beloved Karen Kaas as his star. Ib Abelsøn however would prefer that she was a real star so that Svend Poulsen couldn't reach her.
