Description
Dansk: Illustration af Poul Steffensen til Carit Etlars roman Dronningens Vagtmester, der foregår under den Anden Karl Gustav-krig i 1658-1660. Adelskvinden Elsebeth Buchwald, hendes datter Karen Kaas og nevøen Holger Rud vil flygte fra de svenske soldater på Gjorslev Slot. De skriver et brev til gøngehøvdingen Svend Poulsen og Ib Abelsøn for at få dem til at hjælpe sig. Hønsedrengen Palle skal snige sig ud med brevet, som de vil gemme i hans trøje. Men Palle siger at svenskerne kender det gemmested og foreslår, at de skal gemme det i hans omfangsrige hår i stedet for.
English: Illustration by Poul Steffensen from the Danish novel Dronningens Vagtmester by Carit Etlar which takes place during the Dano-Swedish War in 1658-1660. The noblewoman Elsebeth Buchwald, her daughter Karen Kaas and the nephew Holger Rud wants to flee from the Swedish forces at the Gjorslev Castle. They writes a letter to Svend Poulsen, Gøngehøvdingen, and Ib Abelsøn to get their help. The chicken boy Palle shall sneak out with the letter which they wants to hide in his coat. But Palle says that the Swedes knows that hiding place and suggest to hide it inside his big hair instead.
