Description
Dansk: Illustration af Poul Steffensen til Carit Etlars roman Dronningens Vagtmester, der foregår under den Anden Karl Gustav-krig i 1658-1660. Adelskvinden Elsebeth Buchwald har bedt gøngehøvdingen Svend Poulsen om at hente hendes skjulte skatte på Søholm Slot. På vej dertil støder Svend Poulsen og Ib Abelsøn på en bonde, som de overlader deres heste, da Svend Poulsens plan næppe lader sig udføre til hest. Svend Poulsen fortæller bonden, hvad han skal gøre, men da han tager afsted, råder han Ib Abelsøn til at skjule sin pistol bedre. Svend Poulsen (ca. 1610 - ca. 1679, til højre) var en virkelig person, men historien er fiktion. Svend Poulsens udseende er også fantasi, for der kendes ingen portrætter af ham.
English: Illustration by Poul Steffensen from the Danish novel Dronningens Vagtmester by Carit Etlar which takes place during the Dano-Swedish War in 1658-1660. The noblewoman Elsebeth Buchwald has requested that Svend Poulsen, Gøngehøvdingen, holes her hidden treasures at the Søholm Castle. On their way Svend Poulsen and Ib Abelsøn meets a peasant with whom they trust theirs horses as the plan of Svend Poulsen hardly can be done with them. Svend Poulsen tells the peasant what to do but as he leaves he tells Ib Abelsøn to hide his pistol better. Svend Poulsen (app. 1610 - app. 1679, at the right) was a real person but the story is fiction. The look of Svend Poulsen is also fantasy as there is no known portraits of him.
