Dansk: Illustration af Poul Steffensen til Carit Etlars roman Dronningens Vagtmester, der foregår under den Anden Karl Gustav-krig i 1658-1660. Adelskvinden Elsebeth Buchwald har bedt gøngehøvdingen Svend Poulsen om at komme til sig i Arnøje. Hun tager imod ham sammen med sin nevø Junker Holger Rud og sin datter Karen Kaas. Elsebeth Buchwald fortæller, at hun skjulte smykker, sølvtøj og penge på Søholm Slot, da hun måtte flygte fra svenskerne. Nu vil hun have Svend Poulsen til at skaffe dem hende tilbage. Svend Poulsen (ca. 1610 - ca. 1679, til højre) var en virkelig person, men historien er fiktion. Svend Poulsens udseende er også fantasi, for der kendes ingen portrætter af ham.
English: Illustration by Poul Steffensen from the Danish novel Dronningens Vagtmester by Carit Etlar which takes place during the Dano-Swedish War in 1658-1660. The noblewoman Elsebeth Buchwald has requested that Svend Poulsen, Gøngehøvdingen, comes to her in Arnøje. She welcomes him together with her nephew Holger Rud and her daughter Karen Kaas. Elsebeth Buchwald explains how she has hidden jewellery, silver and money at the Søholm Castle when she had to flee from the Swedes. Now she wants Svend Poulsen to bring it back to her. Svend Poulsen (app. 1610 - app. 1679, at the right) was a real person but the story is fiction. The look of Svend Poulsen is also fantasy as there is no known portraits of him. |
