Description
Dansk: Illustration af Poul Steffensen til Carit Etlars roman Dronningens Vagtmester, der foregår under den Anden Karl Gustav-krig i 1658-1660. Junker Holger Rud, Gøngehøvdingen Svend Poulsen og Ib Abelsøn rider gennem skoven, da de bliver indhentet af nogle svenske ryttere. Holger Rud bryder sig ikke om situationen, og de skrigende svenskere gør hans hest urolig. Han sporer den, rider gennem den svenske gruppe og forsvinder. Svend Poulsen (ca. 1610 - ca. 1679, nummer to fra højre) var en virkelig person, men historien er fiktion. Svend Poulsens udseende er også fantasi, for der kendes ingen portrætter af ham.
English: Illustration by Poul Steffensen from the Danish novel Dronningens Vagtmester by Carit Etlar which takes place during the Dano-Swedish War in 1658-1660. The young nobleman Holger Rud, Svend Poulsen, Gøngehøvdingen, and Ib Abelsøn rides through the forest when a group of Swedish horsemen catch up with them. Holger Rud don't like it and the screaming Swedes makes his horse uneasy. He then spur the horse, rides through the Swedish group and disappear. Svend Poulsen (app. 1610 - app. 1679, number two from the right) was a real person but the story is fiction. The look of Svend Poulsen is also fantasy as there is no known portraits of him.
