Description
Deutsch: Gesamtansicht der Fabrik Drewitz des Unternehmens Orenstein & Koppel. Die Lokomotivfabrik wurde 1898 auf dem Gebiet des Ortes Neuendorf am Bahnhof Drewitz der Wetzlarer Eisenbahn erbaut. Neuendorf und das benachbarte Dorf Nowawes wurden später ein Teil von Potsdam-Babelsberg. Die Inbetriebnahme der Fabrik erfolgte 1899 mit 425 Arbeitern und einer Jahresproduktion von 108 kleineren Lokomotiven. Ab 1900 begann auch der Großlokomotivbau. 1912 beschäftigte die Fabrik rd. 1500 Arbeiter und 273 Angestellte, die bebaute Fläche des Fabrikareals betrug rd. 35.600 qm und die Jahresproduktion umfasste 659 Lokomotiven.
