Description |
English: An incomplete Post-Medieval cast copper-alloy dress hook, dating to AD 1500 - 1600. Read Class E, Type 8. The clasp has a trapezoidal bar attachment loop, with a circular section, sitting above a sub-circular plate. The plate is decorated with a moulded six petalled double rose, in the centre is a large domed pellet. At the edge opposite the attachment loop is a trapezoidal sectioned hook that is curved backwards and terminates at an old break. Length: 22.66 mm Reference: Read (2008) Hooked-Clasps & Eyes, p 114 no 463. |
