English: Evening gown ivory satin, skirt and bodice; .1 skirt embroidered with gold sequins, beads and pearls; pattern of lover's knots around hem; .2 bodice, boned; embroidered as skirt; white net forms collar around shoulders “CREAM SILK BALL GOWN two piece in heavy satin with sequin and bead trim. Bodice - short fitted bodice (lengthened at front) back fastening – square neck – net puffed sleeves and net shawl across the shoulders at back. Banded with sequins and beads. Fully lined and boned. Skirt - six gored of medium fullness at hem – rather straight in front – pleated fullness at back of waistline – beaded bands and decorations on front panels – velvet edging at hem – fully lined heavy and stiff. Maker A.F. Guthries Glasgow.”
