Description
Deutsch: In den Jahren 1548–1556 wurde der Schlosshof des Residenzschlosses in Dresden nach Westen auf die doppelte Größe gebracht. Unter Verwendung älterer Bauteile im Osten entstand mit den neuen Flügel auf der Westseite, den drei Treppentürmen in den Hofecken und dem Altan mit Säulenarkaden vor dem Hausmannsturm ein prachtvolles Schloss der Renaissance. Beteiligt waren neben vielen anderen die Künstler Benedetto Tola und Hans Walther II als Leiter größerer Werkstätten. Ab 1985 wurde die im Zweiten Weltkrieg zerstörte Anlage wieder aufgebaut und rekonstruiert.
English: In the years 1548-1556, the courtyard of the Residence Palace in Dresden was doubled in size to the west. Using older components in the east, a magnificent Renaissance palace was created with the new wings on the west side, the three stair towers in the corners of the courtyard and the Altan with columned arcades in front of the Hausmannsturm. Among many others, the artists Benedetto Tola and Hans Walther II were involved as heads of larger workshops. From 1985 the complex, destroyed in the Second World War, was rebuilt and reconstructed.
