Deutsch: Verletzung der Energieerhaltung durch eine Simulation eines Drei-Körper-Systems mit dem Leapfrog- (blaue Kurve) und Hermite-Polynome-Verfahren (rote Kurve) über einen Zeitraum von 50 Jahren mit festen Zeitschritten von 1 Tag. Die zeitliche Entwicklung der Gesamtenergie ist relativ zu ihrem Anfangswert angegeben. Trotz der nur etwas geringeren Genaugkeit tritt mit der hier in Prädiktor-Korrektor-Form angewandten Leapfrog-Methode bereits nach 7 Jahren bei einer engen Begegnung zweier Massenpunkte ein relativer Fehler von etwa 0.02 auf. Bei einem Beinahezusammenstoß nach 33 Jahren beläuft sich der Fehler auf ein Vielfaches des Absolutwertes, was durch extreme Überschätzung der kinetischen Energie die sofortige Auflösung des Ensembles zur Folge hat. Das Hermite-Polynome-Verfahren ist dagegen in der Lage, diese beiden Ereignisse korrekt zu meistern. Runge-Kutta- und Mehrschritt-Verfahren geben die Energieerhaltung gleichermaßen korrekt wieder, so dass die entsprechende Kurven nicht eingezeichnet sind.
Die Masse der drei Körper beträgt jeweils eine Sonnenmasse. Die Anfangspositionen (vor der Transformation ins Schwerpunktsystem) lauten (10 AE / 0), (0 / 10 AE) und (-10 AE / 0), die Anfangsgeschwindigkeiten (0 / 5 km/s), (-5 km/s / 0) und (0 / -5 km/s). |
