2 HENRY A. DREER, PHILADELPHIA, PA., WHOLESALE PRICE LIST DREER'S SUPERB ASTERS We take special pains to secure only the choicest Asters, and nothing better in quality can be had at any price. Beware of low-priced stock, it is liable to be low grade at the same time. For early flowering. Queen of the Market is used almost exclusively, although the earliest of all is Early Wonder. White Fleece'and La\'ender Gem are also early and very desirable. Our Superb Late Branching is in most demand for late, while for mid-season Crego's Giant, Fink Beauty, Ostrich Feather, Paeony Perfection, are all equally desirable. AMERICAN GROWN ASTERS The varieties offered on this page are all American grown and stand at the head of Asters for the American climate. The stocks have all been grown under our own supervision, and we know that the quality in every case is as fine as can be had at any price and much superior to what can be procured from most sources.
Text Appearing After Image:
CREGO S GIANT COMET ASTER DREER'S superb LATE BRANCHING ASTER Dreer's New Aster "Peerless Pink." This grand new Aster may briefly be described as a glorified late branching shell-pink or Mary Semple. It has the same strong, sturdy habit of growth; comes into bloom a little earlier, bears freely almost globular flowers rarely under 4 inches across and frequently over 5 inches. The color is rich shell-pink, similar in shade but more decided than the late branching. The centre petals are prettily incurved while the wide outer petals reflex making a most artistic and finely finished flower. 50 cts. per trade packet; $4.00 per oz. Electric White Aster. A most distinct and distinguished looking flower, being made up of long thread like quilled petals of snowy whiteness, borne on long, strong wiry stems, and rarely under 5 inches across. 50 cts. per trade pkt; $2.50 per oz. Dreer's New Aster *'Pink Beauty." A magnificent cut-flower varietj', in bloom from early August until well on in September; 24 to 30 inches high; flowers average 4 inches across, on long, strong stems. Color a delicate blush pink, and pronounced by experts to be the finest pink midseason sort yet introduced. 50 cts. per trade pkt; $4.00 per oz. Crego's Giant Comet Asters. Magnificent fluffy flowers, averaging over 5 inches across, with long strong stems; the finest of this type. Comes into bloom in August, continuing well into September, and, unlike most of the Comet sorts, stands when cut and is a good flower to ship. We offer two colors, our own saving, of the highest quality. Tr. pkt. Oz. Shell-pink 40 $2 00 Snow=white 40 2 00 Early Wonder Asters. This is the earliest Aster in cultivation, being in full bloom when Queen of the Market is only in bud, frequently coming into bloom in late June. Flowers larger than Queen of the Market, borne on long, strong stems. Very valuable for cutting. Tr. pkt. Oz. Early Wonder White. Pure glistening white .... 40 $2 00 Early Wonder Pink. A good pure pink 40 2 00 Dreer's New Late Aster Crimson King." A superb new late-branching variety, with perfect double flowers of rich, rosy crimson, full of fire. Fine for cutting, showing up well under artificial light. 40 cts. per trade pkt; $2.00 per oz. Dreer's Superb Late Branching Asters. The finest Asters for late August and September blooming. The plants form strong, branching bushes, 2 to 25^ feet high, bearing on long, strong stems their handsome Chrysanthemum- like flowers, which, under ordinary cultivation average 5 inches across. The form of the flowers, together with the length of the stems, places them at the head of Asters for cutting. They come into bloom from two to three weeks after the average type, usually being at their best during September, and filling in the gap be- tween the general run of Asters and Chrysanthemums. We offer eight beautiful and distinct colors, viz: Tr. pkt. Oz. Azure Blue. A rich deep lavender . Pure White. Extra fine stock • . Shell Pink. An exquisite shade . . . Rose Pink. A very desirable color Deep Rose. Rich and brilliant. . . Deep Purple. Royal deep blue . • . . Lavender. A pale greyish-lavender Crimson. Very rich Finest Mixed. All the colors . . . . Five Fine American Asters. Daybreak. Of symmetrical growth; attains a height of 18 inches, and produces during August perfect globe-shaped flowers, of a delicate pink tint. . . • Purity. Identical in every way to Daybreak, but of pure glistening white Lavender Gem. One of the most beautiful Asters. Of Comet type, with large, artistic, loosely-arranged flowers of the most charming shade of lavender imaginable. .... Violet King. A new and distinct color in the Late Branching class, fine large double flowers of a pleas- ing shade of violet, a strong, free grower and very free flowering White Fleece. Large and most perfect flowers, 5 inches and over across, formed into a plumy globe of glistening white.
