, (l. . Ill li .li'l1... «SHr SINGLE AND DOUBLE TUBEROUS-ROOTED BEGONIAS. Tuberous= Rooted Begonias. The strain of Tuberous-Rooted Begonias we offer is too well known to require lengthy description, suffice it to say that we have used the same care with this as in the previous seasons, to select only such varieties as are adapted to our climate and certain to give satisfactory results. The bulbs are of good size, well ripened and first-class in every respect. Note the reduction in prices, which are as low as is consistent with good quality ; the retail florist who is growing a few hundred bulbs for his spring trade, to sell over the counter in bloom, will find many of the cheap indifferent strains now offered dear at any price. We "Hf9* '"^^g^^H^ ^ v s offer but one quality, and that is the best. Single Flowering. Scarlet, Orange, Crimson, Pink, "White, Yellow. $3.00 per 100, $25.00 per 1000. Single Flowering. All colors mixed. $1.50 per doz., $2.50 per 100, $22.50 per 1000. Double Flowering. Scarlet, Pink, White, Yellow. $10.00 per 100, $95.00 per 1000. Double Flowering. All colors mixed. $1.25 per doz., $9.00 per 100, $80.00 per 1000. Begonia Rex. "We offer 12 distinct varieties, 3 inch pots, $1.00 per doz.; $8.00 per 100. Begonia Haageana. We consider this the finest ornamental flowering Begonia yet introduced and is a perfect gem. It is of German origin and was introduced some two years since, but by some strange coincidence it originated about the same time as a seedling in a private establishment near Germantown, Phil- adelphia, from where we secured our stock, intending to disseminate it under the name Of Excelsior ; but after com- parison, finding it to be identical with Haageana, we retain the name under which it has originally been introduced. It is of strong, erect habit, producing naturally very symmetrical plants, which are in flower the year round ; the flowers, which are of the largest size, are of a creamy white with just sufficient pink to give them a bright, cheerful glow ; the foliage is of a large size, but not coarse ; is of a bronzy green above and red below ; it makes an admirable pot plant and at the same time is an excellent variety for out-door bedding. 2\ inch pots, 20 cts. each ; $2.00 per doz. Carex Japonica Variegata. An exquisitely graceful new Japanese grass with slender green foliage edged with white. It is extremely easy to grow and makes a most excellent plant for house culture as well as for the garden, where it is said to be quite hardy. 2 in. pots, $1.00 per doz.; $8.00 per 100.
