Dreer's Large-Flowering CANNAS Dreer's Carinas in the New York Botanical Garden, Bronx Park, New York Cannas bloom from early summer until frost in all sections of the country. They succeed best in a sunny position and in practically any kind of soil, responding freely to liberal treatment. For best re- sults, prepare the bed about two feet deep and include a generous supply of well- decayed manure. They enjoy plenty of moisture during their growing season. All varieties have green foliage unless otherwise specified in the descriptions. 23-011 Cheerfulness. Orange-scarlet broadly edged with yellow. 3£ ft. 23-012 City of Portland. Massive trusses of deep rose. 3j ft. 23-014 Commander Byrd. Velvety creamy white flower trusses. 4-5 ft. 23-013 Copper Giant. Madder red suffused with coppery rose. 4 ft. 23-021 Eureka. Considered the best of all whites. 4; ft. 23-036 Hungaria. Large trusses with clear rose flowers. 3? ft. 23-041 King Humbert. Enormous rich orange-scarlet flower trusses and dark coppery bronze foliage. 5 ft. 23-045 Louis Cayeux. Rose-scarlet trusses. Very free and effective. 4 ft. 23-052 Mrs. Alfred Conard. Glowing salmon-pink. 4 ft. 23-067 Richard Wallace. Glorious trusses of pale gold. 3J ft. 23-071 Rosea gigantea. Immense trusses of rich rose color. 4 ft. 23-079 The President. Brilliant fiery, intense scarlet. \ ery vigorous. 5 ft. 23-081 Timbuctoo. Of dwarf growth. Free-rlowering and a fine yellow that does not fade in the sua. 4 ft. 23-082 Triomphe. Very effective brilliant bright crimson. 4 ft. 23-091 Yellow King Humbert (Orchid-Flowered). Bright yellow spotted red. 4J feet. All Bulbs offered in Dreer's Garden Book are sent PREPAID Roots of the above, for delivery before April ist, 25c each; 3 for 65c; 12 for $2.25, prepaid. Growing plants after April ist ready for planting in the spring, to start blooming a month earlier than the roots. 45c each; 3 for $1.05; 12 for $3.50, prepaid. Two Sensational Cannas These two magnificent varieties will be supplied as growing plants only as the roots are difficult to store. They can be shipped anytime after February but we advise that you request shipment at the proper planting time which is after danger of freezing is past. 23-054 Mrs. Pierre S. duPont. Has great trusses of large deep glossy rose-colored flowers. 3i-4ft.

Dreer's Select Gladiolus Gladiolus are universally appreciated as most useful and satisfactory for garden display and for cutting. Make successive plantings for a continuous display. Elegant blooms of graceful form and large «i/.e. Of a blush white color with red blotches deep in the throat. 46-195 Canberra. A most glorious clear bright blood red flower of magnificent size and heavy substance. A vigorous grower. 46-292 Frank J. McCoy. Very large pink blooms. A prize winner. 46-353 Grand Slam. A very fine large deep orange Gladiolus. 46-399 Maid of Orleans. Giant flower stalks displaying elegantly formed pure white flowers. 46-423 Mary Elizabeth. White with light yellow throat. Beautiful medium- sized heavily ruffled blooms. 46-507 Morocco. A very unusual maroon-red color. 46-519 Mother Machree. Unusual dusty lavender with yellow throat. 46-459 Minuet. Light pinkish lavender of great charm. Has magnificent well- formed flowers. Extra fine. 46-542 Pelegrina. A striking and most outstanding dark violet color. 46-554 Pfltzer's Triumph. Velvety salmon-scarlet with ruby throat. Very effective and colorful. 46-566 Phyllis McQuiston. A gor- geous pure pink. Excellent tall spikes. 46-624 Rapture. Light salmon with cream blotch in the throat. 46-636 Red Phipps. A very fine light red. Blooms profusely. 46-672 Smiling Maestro. Richsalmon- rose. A marvelous exhibition variety. 46-726 Veilchenblau. Magnificent large blue flowers —really very outstand- ing. 46-738 Wurttembergia. Immense fiery scarlet with creamy throat.
