er.It is just as well to do the staking at the time ofsowing.During dry weather they should be watered thoroughly and frequently and given an application of liquid manure once a week.A mulch of hay or rakings from the awn will be found beneficial during hot weather. The flowers should be cut as often as pos-sible, to prevent the plants from running to seed, which would stop them from continuing in bloom. White-seeded varieties should not be sown until the ground is comparatively dry and warm. If sown under cold, wet conditions,the seed will rot in the ground. Vith few exceptions, Sweet Peas are black-seeded, and these do not appear to be affected likethe white-seeded sorts. DREERS MIXTURES OF SWEET PEAS. All of the mixtures offered below have been made up by ourselves out of the finest named varieties, insuring a satisfactory resultin color, and must not be confounded with cheap grades, which are harvested in mixture and always contain a large proportion ofdull and undesirable colors.

This mixture con-tains nothing but the finest large-flowering standard varie-ties in such quantities as to produce best color effect. Pkt.,5 cts.; oz., 10 cts.; ^ lb., 30 cts.; lb., $1.00. 4270 Cupid, Dwarf or Bedding Mixed. These form a lineof emerald-green foliage a little over a foot wide and 6inches high, and from June until late summer are literallya sheet of bloom; the mixture contains all the colors. 5 cts.per pkt.; 15 cts. per oz.; 50 cts. per \ lb.; $1.50 per lb.
