Kim Chung-up designed approximately 25 houses before exiled from Korea in 1971. One of these houses is the Yu Teuk-han house in Jangchung-dong, Seoul. Kim designed this private house in 1971 for Yu Teuk-han, the President of Yuyu Pharma Inc.

한국어: 김중업은 1971년 한국을 떠나기 전까지 약 25개의 주택을 설계하였다. 이 중 서울 장충동의 유특한 주택은 김중업이 구 유유산업 안양공장을 지었을 때 맺은 유특한 회장과의 인연으로 1971년에 설계되었다. 지하1층, 지상2층의 벽돌 구조로, 사각의 창호와 평지붕, 돌출된 처마와 테라스로 굵고 강직한 수직과 수평면이 강조되었다. 부분적으로 돌출된 평면구조와 원형계단으로 조형성을 더한 김중업 초기 건축의 특정을 보여준다.
English: Kim Chung-up designed approximately 25 houses before exiled from Korea in 1971. One of these houses is the Yu Teuk-han house in Jangchung-dong, Seoul. Kim designed this private house in 1971 for Yu Teuk-han, the President of Yuyu Pharma Inc., with whom Kim had maintained a relationship since his construction of the Factory of Yuyu Pharma Inc., Anyang in 1959. This is a two-story brick house with one basement. It exemplifies Kim's early architectural style, characterized by a stack of protruding boxes with rectangular windows, a flat roof, vertical and horizontal planes, and the spiral staircase. |
