English: Horizontal rectangle. Three panthers spring at two bowls with excrements either hanging at a tree. A fourth stands tired upon his feet, a fifth is approaching. Two more are dead. Hidden behind bushes, shepherds watch in the left background. Mountainous country. Caption, written beside the shepherds: "pastori coperti/da fraschi da/lontane," under the central bowl: "in asia plinea." Reverse: "Legonsi in un vaso as un altro albero gli escrementi sterco/delli huomini a le panthere come tighere ne sono tanto arcide che non gli potendo arrivare o amazzano col saltare per/avergli, Lbo. 8 cap. 27. Plinio." Rough lateral, lower, uneven upper edges. Wrinkles. Spots. Related to engraving, pl. 15, in series VENATIONES, FERARUM, PISCIUM
