Description
English: Vertical rectangle. Design for a candlestick intended to be executed in gilded and green bronze and white marble. Upon a half circular base with a black fluted band, decorated with three gold lion masks, stands a tripod. Around two of the legs are wound respectively a vine and a snake--around the third leg at the front is a crossed caduceus and a club. At the rim of the tripod are three seated female figures of allegories. Above their heads stands upon a capital a basket with flowers, out of which is springing a basin with ram heads on the rim, upon which three sockets spring on long shafts at their feet. Rinceaux beside it. Burning candles at top.
