Dragonesque brooch
Description
English: An incomplete cast copper-alloy Roman Dragonesque brooch. The flat S-shaped plate has enamel decoration. In the centre and widest part of the plate is a circle with a raised border and traces of red enamel inside. In the centre of the circle are two small circles, which now only contain the enamel paste. The sub-triangular sections above and below the circle have traces of red enamel. The foot and head terminals are missing. The pin is also missing. The surviving length is 34.2mm, the widest part of the brooch is 12.5mm and the weight is 3.49g.
