Title
Dragonesque brooch
Description
English: A large copper alloy Dragonesque brooch dating from the mid first to mid second centuries AD. The brooch has the characteristic S shaped form; although plain on the underside, it has elaborate moulded decoration on its upper surface. The pin is missing; however, there is considerable wear around one end of the brooch suggesting that the pin had been looped around that area. The brooch measures 64.91mm in length and a maximum of 33.23mm in width. It weighs 33g.
