Dragonesque Brooch from Crowle
Description
English: Copper alloy and blue and red enamel

Brooch. Dragonesque Brooch, as identified by finder. Cast curvilinear plano-convex plate brooch with a central longitudinal rib and four lateral ribs which divide the display face into ten cells. The cells are filled by alternating panels of red and dark blue enamel. The pin, and probably the ends, are lost; abraded. Suggested date: Early Roman, 50-100.

Length: 36.2mm, Width: 13.6mm, Thickness: 6.1mm, Weight: 7.92gms.
