Notes He was City Physician in 1875-76; County Physician for several consecutive terms; Surgeon for the California Southern Railroad Company up to the time of his retirement from practice; Surgeon of the Marine Hospital, and did all the surgical work for the Pacific Coast Steamship Company. In 1879 he built a large hospital here in conjunction with Dr. T. C. Stockton.
