[edit]David Keays writes in 2019: "Fanny is referred to by the name of her husband. Having married Dr Jacob Cahen, she would be referred to as “Mrs Dr Jacob Cahen”; in this case, he is referred to by the honorific title adopted by many doctors in Prussia at the time, of “Geheimer Sanitätsrat”. In old German, they often put an ‘h’ after short words ending in ’t’, so “Rat” became “Rath” and that is what is happening here and it is also abbreviated to “Geh. Rath" - so she becomes “Frau Geh. Rath. Dr. Cahen”."
