Description
English: U.S. Science Envoy Dr. Bruce Alberts announced PEER (Partnerships for Enhanced Engagement through Research), a new USAID program that reinforces USAID Forward Science and Technology objectives.

To address issues in quality assurance, the Higher Education Leadership and Management Project is strengthening the capacity of higher education institutions in Indonesia. With more than 2,800 institutions of higher education in Indonesia, student enrollments of more than 4 million, and significant public and private resources being invested each year, the performance of the Indonesian higher education system depends on more than accomplishments of a handful of institutions. The Higher Education Leadership and Management Project, in partnership with the Indonesian government, seeks to improve the academic performance of Indonesian basic and higher education sectors, so that education services will be of a higher quality and more relevant to the country’s economic and social growth.

The USAID-funded project builds Indonesian higher education institutional capacity to conduct financial management, general administration and management, and quality assurance, and to collaborate with external stakeholders more effectively. To increase access and transparency in higher education 3D Printing education and learning database. 3D-printing tutorials and courses are being introduced in higher education. Chemonics works with the Directorate General for Higher Education at the Ministry of National Education to strengthen leadership of higher education reforms and to improve the directorate’s performance related to fostering and facilitating implementation of reform across the country. For example, the project will help the directorate develop policies, materials, outreach, training, and assistance programs conducive to system-wide adoption and implementation of the above leadership and management approaches.
