Deutsch: Eine Lokomotive der NSB Reihe 29 wurde umgebaut zu einer Lokomotive der Reihe 39a. Als die Ofotbane elektrifiziert war, gab es dort keine Verwendung mehr für die schweren Maschinen. Außer der Østfoldbae hätte keine andere Bahn in Norwegen aber die Achslast vertragen. Für den Einsatz auf der Bergenbahn wurde zunächst bei den Loks Nr. 166-168 eine Vorlaufachse ergänzt. Weitere Umbauten folgten 1939.
English: An NSB series 29 locomotive was converted into a series 39a locomotive. When the Ofotbane was electrified, there was no longer any use for the heavy machinery. Apart from the Østfoldbae, no other railway in Norway could have tolerated the axle load. For use on the Bergen Railway, a leading axle was initially added to locomotives No. 166-168. Further renovations followed in 1939.
Norsk bokmål: Et lokomotiv fra NSB serie 29 ble bygget om til et lokomotiv av serie 39a. Da Ofotbanen ble elektrifisert, var det ikke lenger bruk for det tunge maskineriet. Bortsett fra Østfoldbae kunne ingen annen jernbane i Norge ha tolerert akseltrykket. For bruk på Bergensbanen ble det i første omgang lagt en foraksel til lokomotiv nr. 166-168. Ytterligere renoveringer fulgte i 1939. |
