Description
English: A U.S. Navy Douglas A-1H Skyraider (BuNo 137612) of Attack Squadron 115 (VA-115) "Arabs" aboard the aircraft carrier USS Hancock (CVA-19), in 1967. VA-115 was assigned to Attack Carrier Air Wing 5 (CVW-5) aboard the Hancock for a deployment to Vietnam from 5 January to 22 July 1967.
  • 137612 was assigned to Lt.Cdr. Jack Jones and bears one of the more unusual personalised markings seen on a U.S. Navy Skyraider: 3-toed black footprints run from wingtip to wingtip. Following this deployment, 137612 was transferred to the U.S. Air Force and assigned to the 6th Special Operations Squadron. It was shot down by ground fire near Muang Buk, South Vietnam on 5 May 1968. The pilot was killed.
