English:

A Post-Medieval copper-alloy double loop buckle frame, dating to AD 1600 - 1700. The pin is missing. The buckle is broadly oval; with broadly straight upper and lower edges and convex curved ends. There is a narrowed integral central strap bar, where the strap bar meets the frame, there are two moulded vertical lines, either side of the bar. The long edges of the frame are flanked by slightly concave curved sections of the upper and lower sides. Beyond this, on the outer ends of each side, is an outward projecting rounded knop. The ends are thickened in the centre coming to a point on the inner side.

Whitehead (2003:70) illustrates two similar examples, no.440 and 441, which he dates to c.AD 1600-1720.
