Summary
[edit]DescriptionDouble Bridge, Basingstoke Canal - geograph.org.uk - 478394.jpg |
English: Double Bridge, Basingstoke Canal The origin of the name is not evident and is not known to me, but it does appear to be one of the original bridges of the canal. It carries a minor road from Dogmersfield some two miles to join the A287.
It is evident that in this area, preliminary clearance work has been done on the canal and towpath. Restoration was just beginning in Spring 1974. |
