Français : Le dos de cette assiette posée sur une toile cirée, fournit des renseignements très intéressants sur les relations franco-allemandes contemporaines, c'est-à-dire depuis l'après 2nde guerre mondiale.
Bien que l'inscription soit partiellement effacée, on parvient à lire: « VILLEROY & BOCH (fabricant + blason) ~ METTLACH ~ (siège social de l'entreprise) Made in France - Saar Economic Union CAPRICE (nom de la ligne de vaisselle) handgemalt (= peint à la main) » L'union économique sarroise dont il est ici question, est en fait le protectorat exercé par la France sur la région à l'issue du conflit, qui a entrainé son occupation de 1947 à 56 (la IIIème République avait déjà contrôlé les riches gisements houillers locaux entre 1919 et 35, à titre de réparation dommages de guerre). On peut donc aisément dater l'assiette de cette époque... Durant les événements Villeroy a administré l'un de ses rivaux, les faïences de Digoin & Sarreguemines. La Sarre est définitivement rattachée, suite à référendum, à la jeune RFA le 1er janvier 1957.Deutsch: Dieser Suppenteller ist ein Stück deutsch-französischer Geschichte !
