• Every house is requested to collect the indicated waste materials in four specialised dustbins.
  1. Dark grey bin: for remaining garbage, i.e. garbage not permitted for the other three bins.
  2. Brown bin: for organic waste.
  3. Bin with yellow*) lid: for plastics and, a special arrangement for Dortmund citizens only, from 2010-2018, also for small electrical devices.
  4. Bin with blue lid: for paper and cardboard.
• Households with a garden may also treat vegetable left-overs by composting (not depicted).
  *) The depicted combination of yellow (lid) and black (bin) incidently represents the colours of the reknown Borussia Dortmund soccer team.

• Jedem Haus werden vier verschiedene Abfallbehälter für unterschiedliche Abfallarten zugeteilt.
  1. Dunkelgraue Tonne: für Restmüll, also alleas, was nicht in die drei anderen Behälter gehört.
  2. Braune Tonne: für organische Abfälle.
  3. Gelbe*) Tonne: für Plastikmaterial und, eine Dortmunder Besonderheit im Zeitraum circa 2010-2018, auch für kleine Elektrogeräte.
  4. Blaue Tonne: für Papier und Pappe.
• Haushalte mit Garten dürfen pflanzliche Reste direkt kompostieren (nicht im Bild).
  *) Die abgebildete Farbkombination schwarz-gelb (Tonne-Deckel) stellt natürlich die Vereinsfarben des Fußballvereins Borussia Dortmund dar.
