Summary
[edit]DescriptionDornbirn-former weaving mill FM Rhomberg and power plant Schmelzhuette-01ASD.jpg |
Deutsch: Industriegebäude in Dornbirn, Vorarlberg, Österreich.
English: Industrial building in Dornbirn, Vorarlberg, Austria. Originally there was a mill and a saw by Michael Feuerstein. In 1853, the property and the water rights were acquired by F.M. Rhomberg, a weaving mill was built and the hydropower was used to generate energy with a Francis turbine (supplemented by a Kuhn No. 100 steam engine, now an exhibit). This "Schmelzhütten power station" is named after the plot of the same name and was located at river kilometer 2.62 (Muellerbach). The permit for the power plant has expired due to non-use of the water law.
