| Description |
English: Dorchester West Railway Station The sorry state of Dorchester West in the Mid 80's when the line from here to Yeovil(old GWR line)was under threat. Note the shabby paint and woodwork showing years of neglect. Yet painters from 'Network Southeast' had at least painted the lamp posts bright red, a colour which before had always been banned anywhere near a railway, unless a signal or in grave emergency. Interestingly the black bridge in the background is now not shown on maps and one must assume its demolition. |
