Beschreibung Avers:

Gerades Wappenschild mit dem heraldisch tingierten Königlich-Sächsischen Wappen, bedeckt mit der Königskrone; darunter in Bogenschrift zwischen zwei Rosetten Jahreszahl; Landesbezeichnung und Pflichtangabe als Scheidemünze als Umschrift, links beginnend in deutscher Kapitalschrift: K.S. SCHEIDE=MÜNZE (Königlich Sächsische Scheidemünze)
Rand und Stempelstellung: beidseitig schmales Randstäbchen mit anliegendem Kreis aus voneinander getrennten Perlen, Kante glatt, Kehrprägung
Münzgesetz und Münzfuß: Prägung als Scheidemünze im 16-Taler-Münzfuß gemäß §§ 2, 9 und 10 Münzverfassung vom 01.01.1841 in Übereinstimmung mit der Dresdner Münz-Convention und Punkt 4 der besonderen protokollarischen Übereinkunft vom 30. Juli 1838 mit 75 Stück aus der Mark zu 233,855 g bei einem Feinsilbergehalt von 5 Lot = 312,50‰, damit 240 Stück aus der feinen Mark, Feingewicht = 0,974 g und Raugewicht = 3,118 g; Durchmesser = 21 mm
Münzstätte und Prägezeitraum: Prägung 1841 bis 1842 und 1844 Münzstätte Dresden, Münzmeister Johann Georg Grohmann (1833-1844) Gesamtauflage = 6.015.198 Stück im Wert von 401.013 Taler = 1,27% Anteil an Gesamtmünzproduktion des Landes im Zeitraum von 1840 bis 1856 (ohne Goldmünzen).
Wert und Unterteilung: = 1/15 Taler im 14-Taler-Münzfuß = 20 Pfennige im 16-Taler-Münzfuß
= 1 Groschen 7 Pfennige im Konventionsmünzfuß in Sachsen
Außerkurssetzung: Nach Einführung der Reichswährung gemäß Artikel 15 Nr. 3 Münzgesetz Zahlungsmittel zum Wert von 20 Pfennig bis zur Außerkurssetzung ab 01. Juni 1876 zum gleichen Wert.
