| Description |
English: Doom Bar breakers and fishermen. This was a day of little surf but even so the Doom Bar is dangerous to boats. Shifting sands now mean that in rough seas and at low tide the breakers extend right across the river mouth. Boats have to wait until the tide rises before attempting to cross the Doom Bar. Many ships have been wrecked here. |
