Description A First World war memorial plaque in Mansion House, Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Its dedication says: "In ever grateful recognition of the splendid patriotism and heroic self-sacrifice of the officers, non-commissioned officers and men of the 40th Divisional Royal Engineers (Doncaster's Own), who gave their lives for the Empire, in her great struggle for liberty, truth and justice. August 1914 – November 1918".
