| Transcript | Donaldson's Hospital is the finest building of its kind in Scotland. It is a quadrangular structure, Tudor in style. The founder was a printer named James Donaldson, who in 1851 left �240,000 for the education and maintenance of 200 poor boys and girls, a large portion of whom are deaf and dumb. The building cost over �100,000 and was erected after designs by Mr. W. H. Playfair. |
