Galerie Blanc, Montréal

"Dominique Pétrin est une artiste visuelle autodidacte qui vit et travaille à Montréal. Sa pratique se concentre dans la réalisation d’installations in situ de papier sérigraphié. Au fil des années, sa production a évolué de la peinture murale inspirée de la période gréco-romaine à une œuvre complètement immersive dont l’architecture rappelle la configuration des espaces Internet. Souvent éphémères et conçues spécifiquement pour leur environnement, les installations monumentales qu’elle crée tirent leur influence des fresques de Pompéi, de l’histoire de l’ornementation et de la culture web. Pétrin a été membre du groupe de rock-pétrochimique Les Georges Leningrad de 2000 à 2007 et a collaboré avec Sophie Calle, Pil and Galia Kollectiv (Londres), les chorégraphes Antonija Livingstone (Berlin), Jennifer Lacey (Paris) et Stephen Thompson (Paris) dans la performance Culture, Administration & Trembling. Elle a également attiré l’attention internationale grâce à son association avec l’artiste Banksy pour son récent projet en Palestine intitulé The Walled Off Hotel. Elle a été sélectionnée pour le prix Louis-Comtois en 2017 et finaliste pour le Prix Sobey pour les arts en 2014. Son travail a été exposé à travers le Canada, en France, aux Etats-Unis, en Belgique et au Royaume-Uni."
