Description
English: Copper alloy

Brooch. Cast spring-fastened Dolphin Brooch with a nine or ten coil spring enclosed behind semi-tubular wings; the latter bear flat ends pierced to accommodate an axis bar. An oval section bow tapers towards the stub of a catch-plate. Suggested date: Early Roman, 40-60.

Length: 43.6mm, Width (wings): 23.3mm, Thickness (crest of bow): 6.2mm, Weight: 11.93gms.
