Dolphin Brooch
Description
English: A cast copper alloy Roman dolphin brooch. The tubular wings conceal a hinge pin mechanism, the pin is now missing. The ends of the wings have a vertical groove with a rib either side. The high arched bow has horizontal grooves, which ends at a midway point. The rest of the bow tapers to a point and has a central vertical rib. The small catchplate has a length of 9.15mm. The length of the brooch is 27.16mm, thw width is 21.89mm and the weight is 6.09g.
