English: Le Dolmen des Rossignols est considéré comme une "tombe à couloir", il a gardé la quasi-totalité des éléments de ses parois.
L'image montre le fond de la paroi Ouest La dalle de couverture apparente, avant sa fracture (la moitié environ a disparu) devait peser une trentaine de tonnes. Des traces de coins indiquent une exploitationde la roche à une époque historique.(Les pierres étaient débitées pour servir à la construction, seules les plus grosses ont parfois résister à l'homme). Des lames en silex du type "Grand Pressigny" (Sud de la Touraine) ont été été découvertes sur ce site. Pour la petite histoire, ce dolmen a été découvert en 1904 lors d'un travail agricole en tentant d'enfoncer un pieu de clôture. Le propriétaire, Monsieut Lesueur, a offert le terrain à la commune de Saint-Brevin-les-Pins |
