Description

29/9/1913 The distinguised engineer Doctor R.Diesel Set sail from antwerp aboard the steamer "Dresden" The engineer was heading to ipswich for a business meeting, Rudolf Diesel was last seen at the aft end of the vessel, his bunk had not been slept in so it was assumed he either jumped or had fallen overboard, A few days later a body was seen and indentified as rudolf diesel near the flushing coast,

The body was not recovered so how it was identified

remains a mystery.
