Native, cool-season, perennial, slender, erect herb to 60 cm tall. There are 2 erect, grass-like leaves. Flowerheads are racemes and have 1-10 flowers to 5 cm wide. Flowers are mauve to purple, often with darker purplish blotches, and yellow at the base of the labellum. Grows in grassland, woodlands, forest and heath, usually on fertile, loamy soils, including periodically inundated areas. This specimen was from the headland at Hat Head, NSW |
