Description
English: Ditchling Shaw Field The name of the field according to the 1843 tithe map and formerly part of Ditchling Park, a deer park that dates back to the time of Alfred the Great when he used it as a stud farm, that was disparked in the late 16th century. The name derives from Ditchling Shaw on the left a small belt of woodland used as field boundary. The field today includes Pond Field which lies uphill to the north.
