English: Disused stone quarry above Whitworth. This is one of many such quarries in the Rossendale area. They were originally the source of the pavements for the nation's industrial towns and cities. Examples of the quarryman's craft can be seen in the foreground. This quarry is on the top of Middle Hill. |
