Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Disused railway near Sandhill. This disused railway line looking north-east is all that remains of the Oxford to Bletchley railway, see 412095. The single track, which continues east as far as Swanbourne, near Winslow about 6km away, can just been seen and it has been officially listed as 'mothballed'. Just beyond the curve of the track is Verney Junction station, or what remains of it. As well as being a station on the Oxford to Bletchley line, the station was once a remote short-lived outpost of London Underground from 1933 to 1936, as well as the southern end of the Banbury to Verney Junction railway until 1964, see http://www.subbrit.org.uk/sb-sites/stations/v/verney_junction/index.shtml.
