Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Disused railway line This was the site of a Y-shaped junction with the still-operating Newcastle-Carlisle railway line coming in on the left and a mineral line from Midgeholme and Lambley coming in from the right (behind the derelict signal box). The mineral line was built for Lord Carlisle's mining interests and subsequently passed to the National Coal Board, eventually closing in 1953.
