Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Disused Quarry, Lounsdale. The Cleveland Dyke is the local name for a volcanic seam of whinstone running from near Scarborough to the Isle of Mull. Where ever it outcrops it has been quarried for road making as it is extremely hard. Here a whinstone quarry has become filled with water and is almost lost in the Forestry Commission woods.
