Português: Distinção de Tristão Vaz Teixeira Bettencourt da Câmara com o título de Barão do Jardim do Mar (1848-1903) Tristão Vaz Teixeira de Bettencourt da Câmara (1848-1903), foi o 1º barão do Jardim do Mar, empresário e jornalista. Filho de José Manuel da Câmara (1813-c. 1860) e de sua mulher Eugénia Constança Moniz de Meneses e Câmara, foi funcionário aduaneiro e diretor e proprietário do Diário de Notícias do Funchal. O título de barão de Jardim do Mar foi-lhe concedido por D. Carlos, em 1896 e ainda seria comendador da ordem de Nossa Senhora da Conceição de Vila Viçosa, em 1901. Casou com Sarah de Vasconcelos do Couto Cardoso, filha de Francisco João de Vasconcelos do Couto Cardoso (1824 – ?), senhor do morgado do Jardim do Mar e de sua mulher Luísa de Oliveira (1846-?) e faleceu a 20 de outubro de 1903 na Quinta das Cruzes, sua residência. A sucessão no título passou para seu irmão José de Bettencourt da Câmara de Matos Noronha e Meneses, casado com Júlia Amália de Freitas e Albuquerque, filha de Júlio de Freitas e Albuquerque e de sua primeira mulher (1841) Maria de Freitas e Bettencourt, com geração. |
