| Description |
A frosty morning on the National Elk Refuge created a beautiful scene. Frozen fog, or suspended ice crystals, is a common phenomenon on the Refuge. What is fog? It is basically a cloud near the ground. Clouds are composed of water droplets and ice crystals. Add super cold temperatures and move that cloud to the ground and you get frozen fog!
