| Description |
English: Dismantled railway trackbed east of Penny's Green View into a cutting which forms a section of the dismantled trackbed of the cut-off line which ran between Forncett and Wymondham. The originally single-track line was used for main line diversion trains during the floods of 1912 and it was doubled for military purposes during WWI. Station buildings remain at nearby Ashwellthorpe > https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1412303.
This section of the dismantled line is accessible > https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1612357 from the bridge over Wymondham Road > https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1612486 up until near High House Farm, further to the north-west. |
