| Description |
English: Dismantled railway to Verney Junction 2. Looking north-west, the slightly raised track to the right which curves away in between trees is the trackbed of the former Aylesbury & Buckingham Railway, see 963232. The linked image shows the trackbed in the opposite direction but amongst the trees.
The line ran from Quainton Road station 1km behind the camera to Verney Junction station on the Oxford to Bletchley railway 8km to the north and was closed in July 1936, see http://underground-history.co.uk/verney.php. |
